My husband, Gordon, and I have decided to move to Colorado to be closer to family. This means that I will be leaving LACF and Los Alamos. Leaving this community that I truly treasure is difficult, but I am reminded of something my mother always said, “Bloom where you are planted.” I moved to Los Alamos planning to stay for “a few years.” I fell in love with the culture and people here, and stayed for 35 years! During that time, I held several jobs, always working to make Los Alamos a better place.
Most of the people living in Los Alamos are transplants. I encourage all of you to also “Bloom where you are planted.” You can do that by volunteering, giving to local organizations, and helping your neighbors. I know that when we come together, we create a beautiful community.
Now, I will be heading to a new community and will have new opportunities to bloom. I will be around until June, so I hope to have time to say goodbye to most of you in person.
In the meantime, if you know someone who would like to lead this organization, please encourage them to apply. LACF is an amazing organization!
Sincerely,
Liz
